The sole proprietorship IMR Dr Karl Rimmer (Internationaler Metall- und Rohstoffhandel/International Metal and Raw Materials Trading) is founded and trading with one of the world’s largest European non-ferrous metal producers begins.
1994
Integration of an engineering company operating in the field of production line automation with specialised design expertise and mechanical engineering knowledge. Development of the first in-house casting technologies and systems in the field of metal casting for the production of galvanic anodes and granulates.
2004
Acquisition of WIDEFLOW GmbH in Germany and – after re-engineering – commencement of tin powder production.
2006
Opening of the new metallurgical production facility in Feistritz im Rosental, Austria. Launch of production on two powder production lines developed in-house together with powder preparation technology and foundry production in a centralised factory.
2011
Further investments in laboratory facilities and an office building at the Feistritz im Rosental site.
2015
Decision to start market evaluation for the development and production of aluminium alloy powders for additive manufacturing as a diversification strategy.
2016
Active market development for aluminium alloy powders and development phase for the production of these products at the Feistritz im Rosental plant. The first successful sample lots are put on the market.
2017
The production facility is extended by building a second production building in Feistritz im Rosental. Expansion of production capacity for cast products.
2018
The production capacity for metal powders is increased by investing in and building the third gas atomisation plant. Production of aluminium alloy powders with a growing range of variants for different applications and a greater diversification of customers.
2019
Preparations for a potential demerger of IMR AM Metal Powders to form a separate company.
2020
